Mike Thoeresz has been in the tennis industry in some capacity his entire life. He was a top nationally ranked junior before he went on to receive an Athletic Scholarship to Portland State University. He then transferred to the University of Redlands where he was a Three time All-American. After graduating Mike spent three years coaching at the college level before he began running adult clinics and the junior tennis program/academy at the Palisades Tennis Center. Aside from coaching beginner adults through former top collegiate athletes he taught beginner juniors through blue chip top nationally ranked players. Eventually he became the General Manager and Director of Tennis of three facilities in West LA. Since coming to RCI in January of 2014 Mike has started adult LiveDrill clinics and taken over the RCI Beginner/Intermediate Jr. Tennis Program. He is also very involved in programming and tournaments at the club. Mike’s tennis teaching philosophy is high energy with a focus on the fundamentals: stroke production, footwork, balance, developing mental toughness and creating a fun and positive atmosphere!! Please contact him if you have any questions about tennis at RCI!
